Playing Music With Rhapsody

Go to the Music Guide to play tracks and albums by your favorite artists, and discover new ones:

• When you are signed in, click next to any track or album in the Music Guide to play it.

Visit Playlist Central to find and listen to playlists made by celebrities, musicians, other Rhapsody users, and the Rhapsody editors.

• Click next to any playlist to play it.

• Click to add the playlist to your collection in the Playlists area, or drag and drop the playlist name to the Playlists area.

The Radio Guide offers commercial-free, streaming Rhapsody Radio channels:

• Click the Radio tab in the Music Guide pages to open the Rhapsody Radio Channel Guide.
   
• Click next to any Rhapsody Radio channel to begin listening.

You can play the music you've saved in My Library whenever you're signed in. You can play local tracks (purchased, downloaded, or imported) even when you're offline.

• Use the Organizer and Search to find the music you want.
  
  
• Double-click any track to start playback.
  
  
• Click the Play button at the top of My Library to play the entire contents of My Library.

If you've saved some Rhapsody Radio channels, you can play them from My Channels:

• Click My Channels in the Sources area to view your channels.
   
• Double-click any channel name to play it.

Insert a prerecorded CD in your CD drive while Rhapsody is running to play it:

1. Insert a CD in your CD drive.
   
   
2. Click the CD name in the Sources area.
   
   
3. When the CD view of the Display area opens, click at the top of the Display area.

• Select Repeat  in the Rhapsody Player Controls to play the tracks in the CD over and over again, until you choose to stop it.
  
  
• Select Shuffle to play the tracks on the CD in random order. Repeat and Shuffle can be used together or separately.

You can play music you have queued up in the Mixer:

• Double-click any item in the Mixer list to start playing from that point.
  
  
• You can use the Shuffle and Repeat buttons with the Mixer list if you want to.
  
  
  
• Go to the Mixer topic

Play the playlists you've created or saved in the Playlists area:

• From the Playlists area (below the Sources area), drag and drop a playlist to the Mixer tab to begin playback.

• From a playlist view of the Display area, click to begin playback from the start of the playlist.
  
  
• You can use the Shuffle and Repeat buttons while playing a playlist if you want to.

You can play the tracks on your portable player or device through Rhapsody:

1. Connect your device to your computer while Rhapsody is running.
   
   
2. Click the plus sign (+) next to the Portable Device icon to see the contents of the device.
   
   
3. Click Tracks. The tracks on your device are shown in the Display area.
   
   
4. Double-click any track name in the Tracks view or in a playlist to play that track.

1. Drag and drop groups of tracks to the Mixer to play them.

You can use the Rhapsody File menu to play music directly from your hard drives through Rhapsody:

1. Select File > Play Track from Disk in the Rhapsody menus.
   
   
2. Browse for the music you want, and double-click the file or drag it to the Mixer to start playback
