The Sources Area

The Rhapsody Music Guide, My Library, My Channels, and Burn a CD always appear in the Sources area. The CD icon and portable device icon appear only when a CD is inserted, or a portable device is attached to your computer.

Click any item in the Sources area, and the selected information is shown in the Display area.

You can drag and dropA method of moving files from one place to the other. Click and hold the left mouse button while the cursor is over the item you want to move. Drag the item to the new destination and release the left mouse button. tracks, albums, playlists and Rhapsody Radio channels to some of the items in the Sources area. See "How do I use the Sources" area, below.

• Click Rhapsody Music Guide to view the Music Guide, where you can find millions of streaming tracks.
  
  
• Click My Library to view the contents of My Library, your Rhapsody music collection.
  
  

• Click My Channels to view the Rhapsody channels you have added to your personal collection from the Rhapsody Radio Channel Guide pages, and custom stations you have created.
  
  
  
• a prerecorded CD: When you insert a prerecorded CD into your computer's CD drive(s), a CD icon along with the CD name (if available) will appear in the Sources area. If you insert multiple CDs into multiple drives, each CD will appear in the Sources area separately.
  
  Click a CD name to view the contents of the CD in the Display area.
  
  
• Burn a CD: When you insert a blank CD-RCD-Recordable. The term can refer to a recording drive on your computer, or the recordable disks used with the drive. CD-R disks can be recorded only once. or CD-RWCD-Rewritable. The term can refer to a recording drive on your computer, or a type of CD disc that enables you to write onto it in multiple sessions. into your computer's CD drive, Burn a CD becomes active. Drag and drop music to Burn a CD to create a Burn Queue.
  
  Click Burn a CD to view your burn queue in the Display area.
  
  

• A portable device: When you attach a portable player or device to your computer, the portable device icon and name will appear in the Sources area.
  
  Click your portable device to view the Device Dashboard in the Display area.
  
  Click the plus sign ( + ) next to your portable device to view and manage the contents of the device, including tracks, channels*, photos, videos, and playlists. Click any item to see its contents in the portable device view of the Display area.
  
  
  
  *You must have the appropriate subscription and a compatible portable device to transfer Rhapsody Radio channels to your device.
  
  

 

• The icon indicates that you are playing music from a particular part of the Sources area. For example, will appear to the right of the CD name if you are playing a CD.
  
  
• Right-click My Library to:
   
• Play the entire contents of My Library.
  
• Update your track licenses. (This should not generally be necessary, as Rhapsody automatically updates track licenses on your computer.)
  
  
• Right-click the CD icon to:
   
• Play the CD.
  
• Get CD info.
  
• Import the CD.
  
• Eject the CD.
  
• Erase the CD (Only for CD-RWCD-Rewritable. The term can refer to a recording drive on your computer, or a type of CD disc that enables you to write onto it in multiple sessions.s).
  
  
• Right-click the portable device icon to:
   
• Edit your deice options.
  
• Make a playlist on the device.
  
• Deauthorize the device.
  
• License the device.
  
• Format the device.
  Warning: This will erase all content from your device.
  
• Rename the device:
  
  
1. Select Rename Device.
   
2. The device name in the Sources list will be highlighted. Type a new name.
   
3. Press [ENTER] on your keyboard.
   
   
• Disconnect the device so it can be safely unplugged.
