CD Burning

1. Insert a blank CD-R or CD-RW into your computer's CD drive.
   
   CD-RCD-Recordable. The term can refer to a recording drive on your computer, or the recordable disks used with the drive. CD-R disks can be recorded only once. disks are recommended for maximum burn compatibility and for the most flexibility when listening to your CD on other devices, like car stereos and portable CD players. Not all CD players can play CD-RWCD-Rewritable. The term can refer to a recording drive on your computer, or a type of CD disc that enables you to write onto it in multiple sessions.s.
   
   
2. Add tracks to the Burn a CD icon in the Sources area by one of the following methods:

• Drag and drop tracks and albums from My Library to Burn a CD.
• Drag and drop an entire playlist from the Playlists area to Burn a CD.
• Click a playlist in the Playlists area to open it, and click in the Display area.
• Drag and drop tracks and albums from the Music Guide to Burn a CD .
  
  
  

3. Click the Burn a CD  to display the Burn queue in the Display area. The minutes available on your blank CD and the minutes free (after adding the current burn queue) are displayed at the bottom of the Burn queue.
   
   
4. Rearrange the order of the tracks in the Burn queue, if you want to, by dragging them higher or lower in the list. You can delete tracks by selecting them and pressing [DELETE] on your keyboard.
   
   If you have added any tracks that are unavailable for purchase, an error icon will appear to the left of the track, to the right of Burn a CD in the Sources area, and at the bottom of the Burn queue.
   
   
   
   Click the error icon at the bottom of the Burn queue to learn more. The error dialog will give you the opportunity to remove the tracks that are causing the errors.
   
   
5. Select Tools > Preferences: CD Burning from the Rhapsody menu to change your CD Burning Preferences if you want to. (We recommend that you allow Rhapsody to choose your burn speed.)
   
   
6. Click Start Burn at the top-right of the Burn queue. If there are any streamed or downloaded Rhapsody tracks in the Burn queue that you have not yet purchased, you will be prompted to buy them.
   
   
   
   

Note: You can cancel your burn from the Payment Wizard if there are any tracks you don't want to buy. You can then remove the tracks from the Burn queue, and restart your burn.

7. If there are too many tracks to fit onto the disc, you will see the following message: "The tracks will not all fit onto one disc. Do you want to burn only the tracks that fit?"

• Click Yes to continue the burn and leave off the tracks at the end of the list that will not fit on the CD.
  
  
• Click No to cancel the burn. You can now delete and rearrange the tracks to your liking.
  
  
• If you chose to leave off tracks that would not fit on the CD, click Start Burn again to restart the process.

You can watch the progress of your burn in the status bar at the bottom of the Burn Queue. You'll see a message when your burn is complete.

Note: Rhapsody burns CDs in CD Digital Audio (.cda) format. This is the format used in music CDs from local retailers.

You can use a CD-RW (a type of disc that can be written to in multiple sessions, or erased and rewritten) to burn CDs with Rhapsody. However, you should be aware that not all CD players can read and play CD-RWs.

The CD burning process with a CD-RW is very similar to the process with a CD-R (recordable disks that can be recorded only once).

• Burning tracks onto a blank CD-RW follows the same process as burning tracks onto a CD-R.
  
  
• To burn tracks onto a CD-RW that already has content on it, follow the steps below:

1. Insert the CD-RW into your CD drive.
   
   
2. Click Burn a CD in the Sources area. The current contents of the CD-RW will appear in the Display area.
   
   
3. Click Erase Disc at the top of the Display area to erase the contents of the CD-RW.
   
   
4. Once the erasing process is finished, add tracks to the blank CD-RW and follow the CD burning process as usual.
   
   

• Drag tracks and albums from Rhapsody's Music Guide to Burn a CD in the Sources area. When you start the burn process, you'll be prompted to purchase the tracks.
  
  
• From the Rhapsody MP3 Store. Music you buy there will be in My Library, and it can be burned to a CD at any time.
  
  
• From My Library. Drag tracks to Burn a CD in the Sources area. Once you start your burn, you'll be prompted to buy any tracks you don't yet own.
  
  
• From other CDs. Music you have imported from CDs can be found in My Library.
  
  
• You can burn localMusic files saved on your computer's hard drive(s) are referred to as "local." tracks that you have added from your hard drive(s) to My Library. These might be tracks you downloaded from other internet sites, or purchased elsewhere.
  
  
• Burn entire playlists you have created, or saved from Playlist Central. You'll be prompted to buy any tracks you don't yet own when you start the burn.
