Purchased Rhapsody music
that you buy from Rhapsody or the MP3 Store are -free. They have no content rights, other than those dictated by the music company.
These MP3 files are your property, and you are responsible for backing them up and monitoring their use. Each file has a unique transaction ID number in Track Info. This number does not contain any personal information about you, but can be used by Customer Service to assist you if there is a problem with the file.
We suggest you back up all of your purchased music by burning it to a data CD, or saving it to an external hard drive.
Downloaded and Rhapsody Premier music
You're given the digital content rights for your downloaded (but not purchased) Rhapsody tracks, and music, via a Digital Rights
Management ()
system. The content rights you receive are determined
by the music companies, and by your level of membership.
Streamed Rhapsody music
Most music companies allow you to stream their music as much as you want, as long as you have the appropriate Rhapsody membership. Some companies may require music to be purchased before you can listen to it. Others may allow you to stream their music, but not purchase it. Still others may not allow non-purchased transfer, like Rhapsody Premier and . You can view a track's content rights by saving to your Library, then looking at the Track Info.
