Using Your iPod With Rhapsody

The iPod does not work with Rhapsody subscription tracks. At this time Apple does not support track "rental" from Rhapsody or any other subscription music service. However, you can still transfer tracks you have purchased as MP3 files from Rhapsody, added from your hard drives, or imported from CDs.

With Rhapsody you can:

• Manually transfer tracks and playlists that you own, including MP3MPEG Layer 3 Audio; a popular open-standard compression and file format for digital audio. files purchased from Rhapsody.
  
  
• Manage the contents of your iPod - delete tracks and playlists, or create playlists from the tracks that are already on the device.
  
  
• Download the Rhapsody App from the Apple App Store to your iPhone or iPod Touch. With the Rhapsody App and the appropriate subscription, you can play anything in the enormous Rhapsody catalog through your device.

Note: Rhapsody does not work with the iPod Touch or the iPhone at this time.

What can I transfer to my iPod?

Any track that you have imported, you can transfer to your iPod. To see what is available in your Library, open My Library, and view the Track type column (to the right.) You can also transfer MP3 files purchased from Rhapsody to your iPod. If you see "Imported" or "MP3" as the track type, you can transfer the track to your iPod.

Important: Tracks you have purchased from the iTunes music store cannot be transferred to your iPod using Rhapsody. Rhapsody software cannot play purchased iTunes tracks. This is because of the type of Digital Rights Management used on those files. When Rhapsody imports an iTunes library, it matches purchased iTunes tracks with streamed Rhapsody tracks whenever they are available. You will not be able to transfer them from your Rhapsody Library to an iPod.
