Transfer Tracks to a Portable Device

1. Attach your portable device to your computer.
   
   
2. Drag and drop tracks and albums from the Music Guide or playlists from Playlist Central to your portable device name in the Sources area.
   
   

(If your portable device supports playlist transfer, the playlists will be transferred as complete playlists. If your portable device does not support playlist transfer, your playlists will be transferred as individual tracks.)

If you have a Rhapsody Premier or Rhapsody Premier Plus subscription and a compatible portable device, any streamedProcess of breaking a large audio or video file into smaller pieces and transferring it, piece by piece, so it can be viewed immediately rather than waiting for the whole file to be downloaded. Rhapsody tracks ( ) you drag to your device will be automatically downloaded and transferred.

 

If you don't have the appropriate subscription, or if any of the tracks are unavailable for download without purchase, the tracks will be added to the Purchase Bin in the Sources area. Click this icon to see the tracks and decide if you want to purchase them.

The progress of your transfer is shown in the bar at the bottom of the Display area.

If your device nears capacity, Rhapsody will warn you.

To view the contents of your device, click the plus sign next to the portable device icon in the Sources area.

• If a track or album displays an active Buy MP3 button next to it, it can be purchased and transferred.
  
  
• If a track displays a grayed-out Buy MP3 button next to it, it may still be available for download and transfer without cost.

If a track or album does not display an asterisk ( * ), it is available for download and transfer without cost.

You must have the right subscription and a compatible portable device to transfer downloaded Rhapsody tracks.

3. Drag and drop Rhapsody Radio channels to your portable device name in the Sources area. (Rhapsody Radio channels can only be transferred to a compatible portable player.)
   
   

The progress of your transfer is shown in the bar at the bottom of the Display area.

Each Rhapsody Radio channel loads about three hours of music onto your device. If your device nears capacity, Rhapsody will warn you.

 

Look at the Transfer column next to any track in My Library:

• With Purchase: You can transfer the track, but it must be purchased first.
  
  
• OK: You can transfer the track without purchase.
  
  
• Unavailable: The track cannot be transferred to a portable device.
  
  

 

Transferring downloaded Rhapsody tracks to your compatible player is like renting the tracks. Once these tracks are on your device, they become subscription tracks, and the subscription must be renewed once every 30 days.

To renew the licenses for the subscription tracks on your player, connect your device to Rhapsody while you are signed in to your Rhapsody account. The licenses will be renewed for another 30-day period. Even if your subscription tracks expire, you can still renew the licenses this way.

You must have a Rhapsody PremierA level of subscription that allows you to download tracks without purchasing them, and transfer tracks to a portable device wtihout purchasing them. or Rhapsody Premier PlusA level of subscription that allows you to download tracks without purchasing them, and transfer tracks to up to 3 portable devices without purchasing them. subscription to transfer subscription tracks.

 

• If you select Download tracks to my hard drive whenever possible... in My Library Preferences, Rhapsody tracks you add to My Library will be ready to transfer immediately.
